  • Why should an occupational therapist perform a home evaluation vs another professional?

OTs are educated on diagnoses, conditions, and/or temporary limitations and are uniquely skilled at creating an environment that will provide support, safety, and enhance your ability to do the things you need or want to do.

  • Is AccessibilOT covered by my insurance?

AccessibilOT is a private pay practice, which allows us to offer customized services to meet our clients' needs. This can include designing wheelchair ramps, bathroom remodels, or accessible entryways to the home. We also offer interventions focusing on leisure activities, fall prevention or recovery training, and proactive accessibility services that promote aging in place and maintaining independent living, which insurance companies would not deem "medically necessary".

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept debit/credit cards. Cash or personal checks are not accepted.

  • Does the cost for a Home Safety Evaluation cover any of the recommended equipment or home modifications?

No. The report you receive after having a Home Safety Evaluation may include recommendations for equipment or home modifications based on your individual needs. A rough estimate of the cost of each item or modification will be included. However, the choice to purchase the items or make changes to the home is at the discretion of the client  and they are responsible for the costs. However, there may be grants that you are eligible for that can help cover these costs.

  • What areas of Oklahoma do you service?

AccessibilOT is based in Tulsa and quotes given are based on residents in Tulsa County. For clients outside of Tulsa County, an additional fee will be added for mileage at the current IRS rate and a surcharge based on travel time.

  • Once I complete my new client paperwork, how soon will AccessibilOT come to do my home visit?

AccessibilOT will be there within 30 days (max) of receiving your signed contracts.

  • How quickly will I receive a report after my home visit?

Electronic reports will be delivered within 5 business days. If requested, a hard copy will be mailed within 10 business days.

  • Do I need a referral from a physician?

No, a physician's referral or order is not required.
